Call of Duty 4 1.7 Patch Released

 The_Wraith-WYD- writes "The latest patch for the PC edition of Infinity Ward's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is now available. The 1.7 patch can be downloaded at

According to publisher Activision, the 39mb download includes the following changes:
Fixed an exploit that allowed players to access certain console dvars during multi-player matches.
Fixed a crash that could occur when a Chinatown Sabotage match would go into over-time.
Fixed a bug where the MP icons (Bomb, Defend, Capture, etc) were always showing up as English regardless of the install language. "

SOB-WYD writes "It appears that Novalogic last night changed the lobby system to disable public logins, meaning that as of this time the only way to enter a server is by using the Nova login system, and with a valid CD key.
Or use DFPinger.

Before starting ensure...
- BHD is closed
- You are prepared to read each step throughly
1) Ensure you have dfbhd pinger by dstructr downloaded
DFPINGER
2) Update it and select your bhd exe.
3) Go to Options
4) Fill in like so...

5) Click Ok.
6) Select Public Games tab, then click refresh.
7) The list will be populated. Double click any servers you may want to join
Click the save icon
9) Close the pinger, and Start BHD.
10) Click Join Games, and select your server from the list.
11) Done!
I changed all the links on mine and it didn't work for me. Went ahead and uninstalled the pinger and reinstalled. After I added everything back in it worked with no problems."
